The fascia is the general term for the connective tissue. It is one sheet of paper, like a sheath that covers our whole body: muscles, groups of muscles, blood vessels and nerves.

The fascia is composed of collagen fibers and elastin fibers: the first are flexible but not elastic, very resistant to traction forces; the elastin fibers, however, are long and may extend up to 150 times their length.

For inflammatory conditions such as hernias, sciatica, periarthritis, osteoporosis, arthritis, back pain, stiff neck can integrate a job on the fascia.

When we experience physical trauma, emotional trauma, scarring or inflammation, the connective tissue is changed and contracts to adapt to the new situation. The fascia reacts to the trauma and the stress by contracting to protect the body.

It regains mobility of a time and you feel more fit.

Fascia is the white part that you see in the pictures.
